[GET] Bare Minimum Spanish - Travel Spanish Course (97$)
COUPON:
https://www.udemy.com/travel-spanish/?couponCode=udemyinstructors COURSE INFO: This course, unlike most Spanish programs, is NOT designed to teach you Spanish. Instead, you're going to learn "Travel Spanish". Just what you need to “get by” when you travel to a Spanish-speaking country. The most unique aspects of this course: 1. You’ll focus on just the five most common travel situations:

Greetings and Being Polite - set yourself apart from normal tourists
Asking Directions - never be lost again--just ask for directions
Transportation - get info, buy tickets, go the right way on the metro!
Hotels and Hostels - find a room, ask basic questions (Can I have the WI-FI password?)
Ordering Food - know basically what you’re ordering, how it’s going to be prepared and that it definitely doesn’t have what you’re allergic to.
2. Everything has a system. I don’t just give you a bunch of words, send you on your way, hope you know how to put them together, then understand what they say back to you. For example:

Ask directions with just 3 Questions made of seven words
Be 100% positive your food doesn’t have anything you can’t (or don’t want to) eat with two Safety Questions.
Get any pastry in the world with the Right/Left/Up/Down System
3. There are real video examples, from Spain, of me using everything I teach you in real life. None of the video examples are rehearsed or set up. You’ll notice this right when you see them--I make mistakes all the time (but it almost never even matters). 4. This is realistic. Because the goal isn’t to have long (or even short) conversations--you can actually do this pretty quickly. You’ll never waste one second learning something you won’t be able to use on your trip--no formal phrases, no pointless words. 5. I never even mention verb conjugation in this course. We won’t differentiate between the feminine/masculine version of a word or the singular/plural form. That stuff doesn’t matter, and you’ll see PROOF of that in countless video examples from real life in Spain. Each of the five situations has three lessons--all covering the same information (once you’ve learned one, you know them all) but they’re designed for very different purposes:

The Main Lesson is where you get the words, phrases and systems you’ll need for that situation. The Main Lesson has the real video examples from Spain showing you how to do everything you learn in real life.
The Last-Minute Drill is the same information, but really fast and to the point--no examples. It’s designed for you to watch right before you’re going to use it. So if you’re about to go to dinner, you can watch the Ordering Food, Last-Minute Drill real fast.
Los Extras is where I put all the video examples from Spain that didn’t make into the Main Lesson for one reason or another. These lessons are for extra practice.
The Last-Minute Drills and Los Extras are just additional lessons. If you’re fluent at the five Main Lessons, you’re fluent at Travel Spanish. The course is 100% modular. Only watch the lessons you want and watch them in whatever order you want. Okay, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably wondering, what happens when they talk? There’s no way I’ll understand them! In all five situations in this course--with every system--you'll be asking questions that solicit one of three replies: sí, no, or a number. Sí and no are easy, but the numbers... not so much. It's difficult to hear what numbers they say AND be able to translate them--all fast enough for it to matter. That only comes with practice. Enter Number's Boot Camp. In Numbers Boot Camp you get four Practice Rounds, each containing over 100 clips from Spain involving numbers. You hear/see the clip, have time to guess what was said, then translate it (either in your head or out loud) before you hear the same clip again. Numbers Boot Camp will give you the repetition and practice you’ll need to understand the numbers when they’re said to you. You won’t waste your time learning tons of complicated numbers and forms you’ll NEVER hear in real life. Think about your daily transactions in English. Does anybody ever say $1,203,242? Nope. It’s more like two, fifty ($2.50 or $250). three, ninety, nine ($3.99 or $399). Real simple. No need to overcomplicate this. There are also 8 Bonus Situations which focus on specific situations, either because they’re important--or just common. I think the names are all self-explanatory:

Buy A SIM Card
Buy A Phone Card
Postcards and Stamps
The Laundromat
The Pharmacy
Renting A Car
Order @ McDonalds
Order @ Starbucks
For both Renting A Car and Buying A SIM Card, there’s a Cheat Sheet. Since these two situations involve lots of numbers and get very complicated very quickly, I include the Cheat Sheet. This is a list of questions with blank spaces for the answers. You just hand the Cheat Sheet to the person working at the phone store or car rental place, and they’ll write down the answers. Since they’re mostly numbers, they’ll be easy to understand from there. All the lessons (except Numbers Boot Camp) is provided as a video, audio and PDF. So you can watch the lesson, then go through it again by listening or reading. How long the course takes depends on you in several ways. The course is modular, so you only have to watch the lessons you want to watch. But depending on how you learn (and how quickly you remember things) you might want to watch some of the lessons more than once. Then there's practice/memorization/flashcards. My friend Rustin can look at a list of words and have them memorized in 5 minutes. I need to make flash cards and work at it. So how long it takes to memorize the words, really depends on you. The total runtime of every lesson in the whole course is 6 hours and 22 minutes. But that includes Los Extras (extra practice), the Last-Minute Drills (quick review lessons) and the 8 Bonus Situations. If you went through the 5 Main Lessons and Numbers Boot Camp (the core course), you're looking at about 3 and a half hours. |
