@Everybody: If you have not downloaded this share yet, I apologize, but I've taken it down.

I am finding my shares all over other B-H sites ... they show up as if I posted them there myself. My avatar, my copy (word-for-word) and my links.

I have a PAID account at Ge.tt and my account shows me that my shares here have been downloaded several hundred to thousands of times! That is a lot of activity but when I come back to this forum, I get a fair amount of interaction (REPS and kind comments) but not nearly enough to reflect the activity on my download links. So, that now explains the blatant leaks.

If that's not bad enough, some (pardon my language) mutha-phucking miscreants who go by the usernames "darksider" and "haker" (among others) routinely post my shares. And people who follow them are thanking them for MY shares and asking for re-ups when the Zippy links go down.

I've asked the forum Mods on several occasions for ways we can stem the flow but there is nothing that remotely works, without it becoming cumbersome to the sharer.

I was told to post the name of the forum. I did that. Now, my shares show up with another forum name but that doesn't stop someone who is only after the download.

I've tried distributing individual one-time links that expire at some time interval (via Mediafire) but it was more work than I cared to do. My inbox was crammed with PMs from people requesting links that I had to dole out like a kindergarten teacher hands out crayons to kiddies. Then came the people who kept sending me private messages to say their links died before they had a chance to use them AFTER I clearly told them they had X-number of days to download the share.

What's more, after the fact, I realized there was nothing to stop someone from downloading via one of these expiring links but (instead of sharing the link) simply re-upping the share to another file share platform and distributing the share that way.

Dealing with people can be a nightmare!

All I wanted to do is share what I find with people on a single forum. I don't even share on other forums; only here. My membership in other forums is to get stuff I cannot find here or to see what others are talking about. But when I began seeing MOST of my shares blatantly posted elsewhere ... well, I realized there is nothing you can write on the post to stop it.

So, I will be asking Lala to remove my posts. It is a time-consuming task but I'm just about over this. I don't want to do this but I don't know how else to put an end to this.

I don't even know if I will be sharing anything again. Yep, folks ... I think it's time for me to leave the game.

I should be thicker-skinned than this knowing what kind of activity I'm dealing in but I'm not one to typecast. I thought there could be honor among thieves.

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood and seeing my sh*t posted all over the place when I only intended it to be seen only here has set me off.

I dunno ...

I love doing this and love the friends I've made over my time here. This is probably my curtain call.

Hey layna, please don't be disappointed for this, we are very happy and so greatful for your shares and contribution to the community.
All your content and posts are very helpful and very informative, don't bother about leechers as they will always be looking for everything and everywhere.

I really appreciate for all effort, I understand your pain..
But I'm sure you will feel very happy when what your doing is helping someone in some or the other way.

Hi Layna, have you considered just sharing in the VIP section? It should reduce the amount of leechers.

In the current section, pretty much anyone with an email can come and get your stuff.

There is Honor among some thieves but I wouldn't bet on finding it. I prefer to rely on karma. If I help someone I'm really helping not just them but myself as well. The secret is not to do it just for the reward.

You are respected and admired here which means your presence on bbhf is desired. Everyone should know they are wanted by those who want them. Just so you know before you go.

I totally understand your feelings here Layla, when you invest yourself as much as you do into this community and see some nobodies steal your priceless posts and use them as their own must be very, very frustrating . I agree that you should consider posting in the VIP section as there are significantly less leechers. Whatever decision you decide to make I'll support you. I'm sincerely grateful for all the amazing information and thoughts you share and I can guarantee I've changed for the better after following you.

@DacInBC: Thanks for the suggestion. That seems like a better alternative than to just throw-out-the-baby-with-the-bathwater, so to speak. I'm just feeling crappy about this at the moment and haven't decided how I want to resolve this.

@Everybody: I'm having to do this because I can't separate the wheat from the chaff. I don't know who's doing this. It's been happening for a while but I'm tired of it now. I can't stop the leakage that has happened already but I can put an end to future actions.

I belong to quite a few B-H forums and this particular one (blackworld) has a LOT of share-stealing. There's no way to contact the Admins and sending an email or PM to the offending party is just an exercise in futility.

I thought that trying to publicly shame the assholes by calling them out (by username) on this forum would do something but people like these have no shame. And they probably have different usernames on the many B-H forums they slither back-and-forth between.

By the way (come to think of it) I've found some VIP shares from right here over there where anyone can get them. So, it may be useless to think you can even dissuade them from their deeds.

So, it may be a small number of people but they're very active and (in my opinion) not smart or creative enough to source their own stuff to share.

Don't get me wrong ... I've swiped a share or two from another forum but (at least) I re-created it using my own words and re-upped images to my own server. And whenever I do so, I am sure to say it's not my original share --- that I found it on another site.

I'm going to think this through over the weekend and on Monday, I will decide whether to ask that my shares be removed. I'm sure that's a daunting task as I've shared a lot; but I'm serious that I will not continue like this into the future.

I advise anyone who liked my shares to do a search by my username and get it while the gettin' is good ... because I may be asking the Mods to remove all my shares.

And I was having such a great time until some a**wipe decided to ruin it all.

My God, people (in general) can be stupid!

If I EVER share again, it will be stuff I don't care that is leaked and the links will be crappy (short-term) Zippy links. I will refuse to re-up so it will be available only if others make mirrors.

My efforts at providing better quality Ge.tt and Mediafire links have opened a free-for-all portal to people I never intended to share with ... who, in turn, re-post shares for even further distribution.

I suppose that my conscience is starting to kick in. It doesn't take a Rhodes scholar to translate the number of illegal downloads to the amount of lost revenues this is costing the product vendors.

By disposition, I'm a kind of Robinhood ... I like to take from the rich and give to the poor. But not every poor person is a good person. In fact, some are just bad-to-the-bone. And that's the analogy I've come to understand with some of these forums.

When I first came here, it was to get-and-give (mostly things I learned how to do like search for stuff to download mainly from the Persian sites) along with a few low-priced e-books or IM-related things I purchased from the Warrior Forum.

I don't mind being responsible for sharing with a limited number of people (ex: within a single B-H community) but with this rabid, unauthorized re-sharing of my stuff, my username is now on an untold number of forums that make ME responsible for actions I did not even take.

The ever-increasing hits to my Ge.tt and Mediafire downloads are telling me that people are making a veritable whorehouse out of my generosity.

As I said, though, I'll mull it over during the weekend and come back on Monday. By then, everyone who wants to should have enough time to get whatever I've shared until now. By then, I may have devised a way to stick around and move forward without this crappy cloud hanging over my head.

Nonetheless, I won't be haunting this forum like I've grown used to doing. And that's a good thing, as I should have been doing more with the publishing projects I have lined up.

So, yeah ... I need to step away while I still can. This sh*t is getting out of hand.

It's just that we're all wearing masks here and you could very well be talking to the one person who's doing the most harm.

I may need to "cull" a community of people from here and share only with them. Hahaa! Just kidding! That doesn't stop someone from sharing it elsewhere either.
