I've been around for years and have noticed the sad, steady decline here at BBHF. This Miscellaneous Section was probably the last section where there were quality shares almost every day and now it's maybe a few times a week.

Many of the best old-time posters have just . . . gone.

You're right -- most in these non-VIP sections are just leechers. Well over 90%. They take whatever they can grab and can't even be bothered to post a simple "Thanks!" or hit the rep button.

That's why many VIPs (who remain) will only post shares -- especially the best shares -- in the VIP Sections now -- and BBHF has some really great VIPs!

I did an actual study, like what you mentioned, where I posted something that was popular and watched the thread hits and DLs and it was DL over 100 times in just a couple of days but not a single "thank you" or rep!

It was deleted and was also (generally) my last share ever outside a VIP Section.

I don't think enabling leeches (again, generally) helps them but in matters like the mind and spirituality, maybe survival and prepping (and this important topic of self-defense), sharing with those who will just leech might still help them or their loved ones.

P.S. -- Like many things it trickles down. There are easy ways BBHF could be renewed and grown but the owner and mods are distant so why should I hand them more $$$ . . . for, at best, "reps" I can't use or spend anywhere?

Yes, I have to agree. I've noticed it, too.

Personally, I never posted for the "reps" (can't buy me love!), but for the joy of sharing. "Hey, I found something groovy! Would YOU like to try this, too?"
All I'd hoped for was feedback: how was this, was it useful?

This Miscellaneous Section was the most fascinating part of the Internet.
There were so many interesting things being offered daily!
And the dialog was great.
A check-in was mandatory at each boot-up!

Now, it's mostly newbies bumping posts from 2014, DEMANDING re-ups as a right (instead of asking for the privilege it is, to have this courtesy extended), so that when you DO post something new, a few hours later it's on page 3. And out of 200 views, one or two "thank-you"s... mostly from the "old crowd".

I can no longer download much of anything (Zippy is blocked here, my browsers don't support MEGA), but I still like to come and visit, and see what's "in fashion"... just not as often...

(Maybe the others from the "old guard" felt the same way...
and evaporated... )
