I was very glad to see this manual from Randy again. I paid the full price awhile back. It IS humorous, but the man has definitely done the work and explains the challenge well.

I write copy for a living too, but in a tiny niche (less than 10K prospects). A small niche can be very profitable to operate in, but you have to love doing it yourself. Not much possibility of outsourcing anything except your website work. You can average ~ $500/year per customer and keep them for years, because you become the "voice of the niche". A few hundred customers can set you free. And it doesn't feel like work.

Steven King found a niche he loved and averages $40 MM a year inhabiting it. By the way, King's book On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, goes well with Randy's material. It shows from a master - how to love what you do and how it is almost impossible to fail by following some clear logical steps.
You can get a copy of On Writing: .... at Amazon or a pdf here:

The instruction from this manual is timeless. If you deleted everything you've downloaded in the last year except this manual you'd experience no lasting loss. Copywriting is the ultimate skill/advantage for any business online/offline. Understanding what really motivates your targets makes it possible for you to sell anything, your own products or any you choose to promote-- forever. People do not fundamentally change over time, so your prospects' core motivations are permanently accessible when you understand the art of persuasion.

Randy even guarantees (with ample proof) that you can easily make a million dollars by focusing your efforts on two well-defined markets. But he also shows you why you will likely go for a different audience in short order. Why? You'll make more money easier just by working a little more intelligently.

I believe that most people are afraid to learn about copywriting because every time they investigate it, they find out in the process that they're so susceptible to persuasion themselves. It seems that one of a human's most persistent idiosyncrasies is a super-sized capacity for self-delusion.

Your carefully crafted ideas do the real selling; not flashing banners, cool graphics and website automation. You can use a 10 year old HTML website with no graphics - but with a captivating message your readers won't know why, but they will NEED to click your buy button.
