RE: [F4LT] The Essential Web Developer Course - Build 12 Websites
Awesome share Capitalh and obviously you deserve that. Apparently the instructor seems to be a competitor of Rob Percival's famous developer course as it has the same content format, title and way of teaching as well.

Exactly that was my first observation. But the applications developed in this course are different though :)

Yeah, there's actually a lot of the "Ultimate Web Dev"-type courses on Udemy. But they are all different and unique in their own ways, especially with respect to the applications they build. And you never know which instructor you might best relate to.

Personally, my favorite so far is Brad's Hussey's 33-hour super-mega-course. He covers everything in Percival's, but, in addition, also touches on Photoshop web design principles, how to convert a PSD file to HTML-CSS, how to build a WordPress plugin from scratch, and how to build an Angular JS real estate listing app. He also has the best PHP-MySQL sections that I've seen. Moreover, he has a big section on how to monetize your new skills. Unfortunately, I've never a free coupon for it, but you can always get it for $10 during Udemy's frequent specials.

I have taken few of brad Hussey's courses and they are really great, but we cannot ever expect any free coupon from him. His Ultimate Web Developer course does look promising based on the reviews and breadth of the content he has to offer.

Yep, you'll never get a free coupon from Hussey or his Code College team.

Speaking of them, one thing I find pretty remarkable is that Hussey has trained Joel Funk to do the WP Plugin course (and a similar section in the "Ultimate" course) and another guy to do the upcoming AngularJS-Laravel(PHP framework)-course and both instructors seem to be really, really good, even of the same caliber as Hussey himself.

On the topic of the course in this thread, I see why the comparison with Percival's course, in particular, was made: Percival's main HTML-CSS project is to mimic the BBC news site, and this instructor's main project is to copy CNN's site. Not too original, eh?

One thing that irritates me about the course in this thread is that the instructor puts a text lesson in between every video lesson. This completely interrupts the autoplay option. Nevertheless, I think it's got potential.

That's something surprising to know his students have started teaching with him. I like brad's teaching, but sometimes i feel he is very fast and rushes through the lectures which i first saw in psd to html5 css course!
