FYI - Kotlin was not provided by Google. It was developed by Jetbrains. Google has added it as a "first-class” language for Android development. JetBrains is partnering with Google to set up a nonprofit Kotlin foundation however the language will continue to be developed and supported by JetBrains. The instructor seems to be missing a few facts.
