RE: [F4LT] AWS MasterClass: Deep Dive - AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
@heymandude

This one is surprisingly easy. No demeaning language necessary; the results will speak for itself.

Me:

I've been here since February 2017, my rep earned is 2851 (and most people don't even rep). I also have 5 pages of shared courses that range from coupons to courses being offered free. Four of those five pages are made up of 50 individual threads that contain coupons and free courses that I've found and decided to share. Out of those 5 pages I have one single thread that's about a change that Udemy made a while back, but they've fixed it since I made contact with them. This brings my total thread creation count up to 206.

You:

You've been here since June 2016. You have 285 rep. You've shared 14 of your 21 courses and these have coupons or were free at one point. Two of your posts are discount codes, and one last thread is an introduction. This gives you a grand total of 17 threads posted.

Your contribution hasn't gone unnoticed, nor does it make what you've offered in the past any less appreciated, but the fact of the matter is simple; people horde courses just because they can. If they aren't picked up by members, then they're picked up from people with scrapers or specific searches which probably isn't factored into your count. People will nearly always take something if it's offered freely, even if they don't need it.

The only thing you can really do (which is what I would/might do IF I ever decide to make my own courses) is offer a decent amount of coupons per course, then once they're gone, pop in and request to have people contact me directly, and if they're genuinely interested I'd create a custom coupon, that way you could see what's moving where, and if people will actually honor their word. If they contribute, then ask for feedback, and ask if there is any other course that they'd interested in reviewing.

Is it tedious? Yes. More importantly though you will see more authentic reviews from people who will give you the results you're looking for.

It doesn't matter how many virtual reps you "earned" here by "sharing" somebody's work. heymandude, who I believe, Manuj Aggarwal, actually, *created* 21 high-quality professional courses that helped lots and lots of people to acquire knowledge, including myself. He is definitely has rights to respect his appeal. And what's in your wallet?

I do share at least 150-200 coupons for brand new courses. Over the new years, I offer 1000+ coupons for popular courses as New Year Gift.

But what I notice is that less than 1-2% of the people even visit the course. Anyway, lets try to have a constructive discussion and improve the community. Onwards and upwards.

Everything is OK 59handshake Why don't you give us another free coupon? 8cool I'll review it for sure, but first a have to look the content of the course. If you continue to give us free coupons here, I'm sure it'll pay you back big time. Keep it up. You're doing a fantastic job! ^_^

Thanks

@vintom
That's ironic, considering that your Udemy library has probably grown extensively due to other people "sharing" somebody else's work. I'm curious to know how many courses you have actually acquired from here, completed, and given an honest review for. Even better, out of his courses, how many have you actually completed and given reviews for? I'm not actually interested in knowing, because I simply don't care it was just a rhetorical question.

I started the way I did because of the attitude from the first post, up until my last one. He asked how I contributed, so I told him. Which was fine until you decided to chime in with your special opinion. GG keyboard warrior, you really stuck it to the man. Actually, I changed my tone as he requested, and offered another method of getting the results he's most likely looking for.

It doesn't really matter what's in my wallet, because it's none of your business. I can give money to whoever I want to. I've paid for countless courses from the plethora of instructors, and so far the money has been well worth it. I'm not against paying for courses; especially if I feel the instructor earned it.

What I care about are expectations, attitude, and being realistic about outcomes regarding people hiding behind the veil of anonymity. I may be a jackass from time to time, but you'd better believe if I do decide to create courses of my own that I'd grin and bear it, because as much as it sucks that people aren't giving the results you're looking for, actions speak louder than words, and I'd rather suc.k it up and find better ways to approach people than insult an entire community based on the actions of multiple greedy individuals.

RE: [F4LT] AWS MasterClass: Deep Dive - AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
CASE CLOSED:
Let me review:
1. this long discussion began because this 2 posts from heymandude:

#1 PLEASE PROVIDE REVIEWS!! So far BBH posting has been disappointing :-(

#2 People thanks for the reps!! But what I *REALLY* need are genuine reviews.

Which for us , BBFH community..IT"S Sounds VERY RUDE..

Thats why WE try to have conversation...but its way too long...

People who read this thread is looking for free coupon..not for watching this long conversation who gets NO WHERE.

@heymandude
We appreciate all of your free course and we find it helpful ..but please ..don't focus on what you don't get (reviews) but try to focus on WHY you don't get (reviews)
if you Ask why..you've already got the answer ..ONLY 1.2 % people who get free coupon, actually started the course..so automatically you don't get many reviews..if you the why..you should find the solution yourself or ask for help..

@vintom
if you don't know the full story..don't chime in and create another "CONVERSATION"..

@i_love_Knowledge
LETS call it a day dude..we got your point..ITS really hard to CALM DOWN people who are defensive..
because it will turn the conversation to personal attack..who has nothing to do with the original topic..
So Don't waste your time..All of us who can think clearly will get your point and will move on..

LETS get this thread buried down ..and revive it when there's NEW COUPON

THANK YOU

Totally agree with the above statement.Manuj Aggarwal courses that i have studied,finished and left a review of are definitely high quality and you do learn.I have found both courses that i have taken challenging,because i have zero knowledge about the topic before hand and for myself,i have to go over some of the tutorials a few times,so that i get a complete understanding.

I try to only leave a review if i have completed 100% or nearly 100% of the course as i think leaving a review after a couple of reviews is unfair to the tutor who has taken time to create the course and the potential student who will be paying $£€ for that course.

Sorry,reviews should say videos.

Agreed. The instructor has changed his tone as well, so I believe as long as other people stop chiming in and trying to stir the pot we're in a decent spot.

Right or wrong.The guy does produce good courses compared to some of the dross on udemy.

It is how he goes about asking for reviews and what his expectations are that are the problem.
