Deranking a competitor?

So lately I've read a lot on the whole Private Blog Network jazz. And I see a lot of people suggests not just putting 20 links up in a day but slowly growing. But my question is, would making a PBN and making tons of backlinks in a day to a competitors site help derank them? Looking for some insight from people who know what they're talking about, PBN owners, ex PBN owners, maybe anyone who's actually done this, etc.

It might, but said competitor could put all the links in the disavow tool.

Yes you can do that but its a pretty negative way to go about things and your time would probably be more positively spent by reverse engineering your competition and learning their methods.

Plus I am pretty sure that we attract what is foremost in our minds so do something good!

just spamming your compettitor with links could get them deindexed or deranked, but it depends on what their matrix looks like now, if they are considered an authority site by google, you can spam them to death and it wont affect them

I suppose another way you could do so, is to run GSA Search Engine Ranker and generate a crap load of spammy links to their site, especially from porn and hacked websites. At the very least it may cause their domain to get blacklisted by various other services - which is usually very difficult if not impossible to get a site removed from once the damage has been done.
