Big fallacy here. Statistics prove: statistics prove nothing. "The chance of the Earth being hit by an asteroid" is a number that doesn't compare with the chance of being infected by the coronavirus. For your information, water covers about 71% of the Earth's surface - and people generally don't live in water. If that number for all the planet (0.046) is real, we get 0.013 for the surface of the planet - about half the number of the coronavirus. And there's another BIG problem with the numbers: 0.013 refers to the entire surface of the planet, and as far as I know the planet isn't covered by human beings, and so this number is significantly less than 0.013.
I just keep thinking about the number of people I know who died after being hit by an asteroid. Zero... So I keep thinking about the number of people I know that were hit by an asteroid and survived but are suffering the side effects. Surprise! Zero again!
But if I'm talking about coranaviruses, the number is above zero.
