[Comment] I am NOT Dead!
Hi BBHF.

I know I used to be super active of BBHF, doing a lot of shares and comments, and recently I have not been so active.

No, I did not die!

I have been super busy doing nothing. Takes a lot of effort and time to do nothing.

I turned 60 a few months back. WOW, writing that out just seems so weird as I feel like I did in High School... But have been deeply enjoying just kicking back on the Northern Beaches of Australia.... And catching up on my reading, watching, and learning on topics that are of interest to me.

I am in the process of building a new product I want to launch, but taking my time as I am in no hurry. I am building it because I want to help others move forward in their own lives. To pass on some of the wisdom I learned over the years as an Entrepreneur. Scraped my knees and banged my head a lot along the way, so if I can reduce the learning curve for others, I see that as a good thing.

Anyway, just thought I would drop you all a note as I have recently been getting some PM's about my no show on BBHF...

Cheers,

G.S.

Hi mthomas

If you knew about Northern Australia, you would know that it is not the sharks you worry about, it's the Jellyfish and the Salt Water Crocodiles. The Crocs are so big and tough even the sharks stay away from them.

A golden oldie from my youth... Fits with the theme of this thread.

Cheers,

RE: [Comment] I am NOT Dead!
LOL, I'll keep that Tarzan technique handy if I feel like getting eaten by a Croc.

Here is some info for you:

"The Australian saltwater crocodile is one of the most aggressive and dangerous crocodiles. It is also the largest living reptile, exceeding the Komodo dragon in size. Sexual dimorphism (difference) is present in this species, with the females normally growing to more than 3 metres (9.8 feet) and males normally up to 6 metres (19.6 feet). Crocodiles up to 10 metres (32.8 feet) have been recorded in the wild in the past, but are extremely rare."

Not something you want to mess around with... Keep you dog away from the waters edge as these beasts are fast and deadly.

And as far as I know, Mick Dundee has retired. This is one of the reasons that Australia has so many man made salt water pools at the oceans edge. Very cool. The are all up and down the coast and most of them are free. I have yet to pay for one, so maybe they all are but don't know for sure.

Here's a pic of one for you to enjoy.

Crocs are not an issue further south, like in Sydney, as the water is cooler and reptiles can't deal with that.... But up north where it is still tropical, well, you are just one quick croc death roll away from meeting your maker.

Cheers,

G.S.

RE: [Comment] I am NOT Dead!
Cool beach pool, I would like to check that out one day.

As for the Croc's yeah, I wouldn't mess with them at all. I'm in SC here in the USA and have gone alligator hunting in Florida as I figure I have a fighting chance with one of them, but know I wouldn't with a Croc. They are just too big and aggressive to mess with.

We do have stories every year of dogs and sometimes old people getting killed/eaten by Alligator's but mostly those that can't run away fast enough. Most of these attacks are on land and not in the water here. The old people should be better armed when walking their dogs around a lake/pond/canal but that's up to them.

Here's a recent example here in SC of one trying to get a fisherman on land....
