Buyer Does Not Want To Pay For Content - What Should Be My Next Step?
So, I had a deal with someone on a popular marketplace for daily content. Initially, it was good, he would send me the work and I would complete it. One of the terms was that since the work is in bulk, payment would be on Sundays. I was fine with it because I could afford it. No problems with that. When the pay day came, he asked me for SWIFT details. To which I replied that I was more comfortable with either Paypal or Escrow. He came back saying that SWIFT is the only medium and that I can leave the money and look for another job if I did not provide SWIFT.

I had a word with my bank regarding security and everything looked fine so I gave him the SWIFT details. Now, the money did not come through even after a week and the next payday came. I again enquired form the bank and they said I had given the wrong code. My mistake, I admit. I asked him to dispute the payment.

I was waiting for my bank to provide me with the right codes and details but by the time I got them, we were already in Week 4 and I did not trust my bank anymore. So, I provided the details of my Wife and even did the KYC for SWIFT. Apparently, it is necessary and honestly not a big thing.

However, he still did not pay. I asked him to clear all the dues and I wished to quit on which he started ranting and swearing and denied the complete sum of money which was by now more than 1k USD. I asked him that I did not wish to work for him or with him and I will not deliver anything until he pays me. He did not and asked me to look for another job. This was followed by some ugly emails from both the sides.

Finally, I dropped him a mail saying that all of the content that I had written for him belongs to me and he should not be using it or be reselling it. I do not give him rights to use it until he pays for it.

I do not know if he has used it or sold it further but Copyscape premium or Google results do not show those articles yet.

I do know that I own the content because I wrote it and It hasn't been technically bought by him yet. However, I do not know how effective emails can be in explaining to DMCA or to law that I have not been paid for it and thus I still am the lawful owner. Am I in good shape?
What legal action can he take? I just wish to be prepared.

Send me a few article excerpts and I will check grammerly to see if any is online. Not much you can do really, should get paid here and there and not let things get big unless you have a relationship with someone.

If I were you I would get a domain name and put the articles up then they are useless to him and if he then uses them you can do things to say he copied you via Google and his registrar.
