.

Shapeways gives you the advantage in so many ways!

- No investment for designer
- No investment in tooling, etc.
- No waiting ... just upload a photo of your 2D design to their app to create a file.
Tweak the file (i.e., choose the materials ... like metals or plastics ... you want to
use; colors, etc.) and submit.
- Get your file back instantly
- Work with them on final model and costs
- Get it delivered by mail

You can even sell your designs! They handle the sales page and collecting the money. You get a percentage of the sales.

I just wanted to share this with BBHF members to let you know, 3D printing has now opened up a totally new arena for marketers.

Now, we get to think outside the box ...

Imagine the possibilities.

@TheSaint: Thank you for your appreciation. You're very welcome, my friend.

@galactichuman: I appreciate your feedback. I wasn't sure anyone would react to this post. You're right ... with this technological advancement, the future looks bright but very scary, indeed. I wonder what legal impacts this might have on potential infringement on products that have proprietary copyrights.

I haven't looked deeper into this; the cost may still be prohibitive the larger and more complex the object made but for small items like jewelry, wall plaques, keychains, and such that people buy based on appearance and customization, this could be a goldmine if used the right way (like capitalizing on trends).
