What’s a Simple Sales Machine?

A Simple Sales Machine is a system that turns cold traffic into friends who are ready to buy. It’s that simple. When you have the ability to turn strangers into friends, then in my book, that trumps all other marketing magic powers.

Pay Per Click is only a small part of the formula. Most people are trying too hard to attract too many people on Google. The symptom is low Quality Scores and expensive clicks. Your sales machine overheats and the traffic costs more than it earns back.

Simple Sales Machines, ironically, have little to do with “social media.” (Ever noticed your social media fans hardly ever buy anything anyway?) “Social media” as normally understood never runs on autopilot. It’s just more stuff to do.

Simple Sales Machines arrest your prospects’ attention with offers fresh and original. A badly written “free report” might’ve worked in 2005 but it won’t work now. In 2012 the key is an altogether more appealing type of offer.

Traffic is useless unless it is high-octane fuel to fire the machine.

Great copy is simply the grease that moves the chugging pistons of the machine.

My autoresponders are machines within the bigger machine. Wheels within wheels.

And I don’t take on affiliates unless their machine’s cogs mesh with mine!
When Building Your Simple Sales Machine,
the Key Word is SIMPLE

Quick confession. My mind naturally visualizes how the parts of a process fit together and work as a well-oiled machine. Whenever I get a new idea for a product or an email message or a headline or a webinar or whatever…I quickly see how and where it fits in the machine. It’s how I’m wired.

But not everybody is like that.

My right hand man, Jack Born, recently took me aside and said “Perry, we have to stop fire hosing everybody with a zillion ideas. When you give them that many ideas…even when all those ideas are great… they don’t know where to start, what to do next. It’s overwhelming. Let’s simplify.”

Amen, Jack.

Let me explain.

I don’t care if you sell physical goods via e-commerce, or if you’re a local chiropractor, if you’re a B2B software company or a consulting firm. The Economist is an English-language weekly news and international affairs publication
owned by The Economist Newspaper Ltd. and edited in an office in the City of
Westminster, London. Continuous publication began under founder James Wilson in
September 1843. While The Economist calls itself a "newspaper", each issue appears on

The publication belongs to The Economist Group, half of which is owned by the Financial
Times, a subsidiary of Pearson PLC. A group of independent shareholders, including many
members of the staff and the Rothschild banking family of England, owns the rest. A
board of trustees formally appoints the editor, who cannot be removed without its
permission. In addition, about two-thirds of the seventy-five staff journalists are
based in London, despite the global emphasis
The Economist's primary focus is world news, politics and business, but it also runs
regular sections on science and technology as well as books and the arts. Every two
weeks, the publication adds an in-depth special report on a particular issue, business
sector or geographical region. Every three months, it publishes a technology report
called Technology Quarterly or TQ. Articles often take a definite editorial stance and
almost never carry a byline. Not even the name of the editor (from 2006, John
Micklethwait) is printed in the issue. It is a longstanding tradition that an editor's
only signed article during his tenure is written on the occasion of his departure from
the position. The author of a piece is named in certain circumstances: when notable
persons are invited to contribute opinion pieces; when Economist writers compile
special reports; and to highlight a potential conflict of interest over a book review.
The names of The Economist editors and correspondents can be located, however, via the
media directory pages of the website.The publication's writers adopt a tight style that
seeks to include the maximum amount of information in a limited space. Atlantic Monthly
publisher David G. Bradley described the formula as "a consistent world view expressed,
consistently, in tight and engaging prose."
There is a section of economic statistics. Tables such as employment statistics are
published each week and there are special statistical features too. It is unique among
British weeklies in providing authoritative coverage of official statistics and its
rankings of international statistics have been decisive. In addition, The Economist is
known for its Big Mac Index, which it first published in 1986. This uses the price of a
Big Mac hamburger sold by McDonald's in different countries as an informal measure of
the purchasing power of currencies.

Set in what novelist and philosopher Rand called the day after tomorrow, Atlas depicts an America in crisis, brought to her knees by a corrupt establishment of government regulators and businessmen with political pull the looters and the moochers who prey on individual achievement.

Less a conventional work of fiction than a philosophical manifesto in the form of a romantic novel, over the course of a thousand-plus pages, Atlas tackles no less an essential argument than the one debated by philosophers and theologians since time immemorial: altruism vs. self-interest. Am I my brothers keeper - or not? For Ayn Rand, the answer is an emphatic no. To Rand and the disciples of her objectivist philosophy, self-sacrifice is as heinous an act as murder of the soul.

Upon publication, Atlas Shrugged was widely scorned by critics for its preposterous plot and one-dimensional characters. Intellectuals and academics from across the ideological spectrum roundly dismissed the new and original philosophy called objectivism that Rand so compellingly illustrated in the novel.

These are some of the best internet marketing tools and can help you rank your websites in Google and they work very well. But this software is powerful. If you have never used scrapebox or xrumer, I recommend you read a lot about software as possible. If you don't know what you are doing with software it is very possible to actually hurt your website rank or getting flagged for spam, etc.

Don't just download, and start blasting your links all over the place. You should use these tools and all the features they offer. There is a lot of information and videos that can show you how software works.

For me, I'd rather be safe than sorry. So I never blast my money page in xrumer or scrapebox. And if I was going to I would do very (very) small amounts spread over time to look natural. I usually just blast the pages that link to my money site, giving my money page more link juice.

If you go from 123 to 14124 back links to your page you are going to get the sandbox. I see many people just fire up software and blast their site into oblivion and then can't understand why their page won't rank (not using good proxies, not spinning comments/names/emails/backlinks, etc) but when you do things like this it leaves a footprint.

Financial Modelling - Theory, Implementation and Practice is a unique combination of quantitative techniques, the application to financial problems and programming using Matlab. The book enables the reader to model, design and implement a wide range of financial models for derivatives pricing and asset allocation, providing practitioners with complete financial modelling workflow, from model choice, deriving  prices and Greeks using (semi-) analytic and simulation techniques, and calibration even for exotic options.

The book is split into three parts. The first part considers financial markets in general and looks at the complex models needed to handle observed structures, reviewing models based on diffusions including stochastic-local volatility models and (pure) jump processes. It shows the possible risk neutral densities, implied volatility surfaces, option pricing and typical paths for a variety of models including SABR, Heston, Bates, Bates-Hull-White, Displaced-Heston, or stochastic volatility versions of Variance Gamma, respectively Normal Inverse Gaussian models and finally, multi-dimensional models. The stochastic-local-volatility Libor market model with time-dependent parameters is considered and as an application how to price and risk-manage CMS spread products is demonstrated.

The second part of the book deals with numerical methods which enables the reader to use the models of the first part for pricing and risk management, covering methods based on direct integration and Fourier transforms, and detailing the implementation of the COS, CONV, Carr-Madan method or Fourier-Space-Time Stepping. This is applied to pricing of European, Bermudan and exotic options as well as the calculation of the Greeks. The Monte Carlo simulation technique is outlined and bridge sampling is discussed in a Gaussian setting and for Lévy processes. Computation of Greeks is covered using likelihood ratio methods and adjoint techniques. A chapter on state-of-the-art optimization algorithms rounds up the toolkit for applying advanced mathematical models to financial problems and the last chapter in this section of the book also serves as an introduction to model risk.

The third part is devoted to the usage of Matlab, introducing the software package by describing the basic functions applied for financial engineering. The programming is approached from an object-oriented perspective with examples to propose a framework for calibration, hedging and the adjoint method for calculating Greeks in a Libor Market model.
