A cool site I just ran across for all sorts of stuff...

Here's the scoop:
I've got a good netbook with a bad installation of 7 on it and want to fix that, so I looked around, and found this site:

It is NOT in english - but also not hard to figure out where the download links are and I already grabbed a couple of good things from there which were not PW protected or anything and the RAR files decompressed flawlessly.

They use a sharing site I've not seen before:
https://public.upera.co
It does try to scare you into buying fast DLs with fake speed restrictions - but it was incredibly fast for me.

It always amazes me at this forum specifically...that many folks will visit a thread and nobody replies at all - it is very silly.

This makes me wonder if lots of folks haven't figured out yet that when they add even their small greeting to a thread, it gets top listed again for a little while, which is very helpful to others who may find the info useful.

Like you, I sometimes wonder if people even realize they can visit a thread and comment or give their feedback. Many know already but all they want is to hit-and-run. But some may not know they can "interact."

It's like having 10 people in a row commenting that a link is dead and asking for a re-up but nobody bothering to send a PM to the person who originally posted it; or to someone who previously downloaded it.

Go figure... huh?

UPDATE:

@smithnowt: I tried both sites and for the first one, I got a red screen with a warning that it could be dangerous to proceed (by Google). The second site goes to a page where it looks like the domain is for sale.

Maybe people in different countries get different results depending on their IP addresses. I can't access either; at least, not to get the download goodies you reference in the post.

Folks, bear in mind that this is a known w***z site in a foreign country...
It opens right up for me, but you may get some sort of warnings in your browser.
I got what I needed there - all clean and with no troubles.
The DL sites had my AV yelling and then stopping pop-ups, but I'm used to that.
Use your discernment - the best AV on the planet is just an aware brain !!!

Since a day or so ago I pointed Layna at the browser that I mostly use, and from what she has said it looks like that has sort of 'unlocked' lots of good possibilities for her - at least I hope that is how well it is working !!
