Expired Domain Spy, as its name states, do not look for auctions like Godaddy auctions. It scrapes expired domains (domain available to register).

If you find a result you want to register, go to godaddy.com or namecheap.com and pay $8 for the domain.

Ok lets say, my niche is Infographics and my Direct competitor is coolinfographics dot com.

If you have a website in "infografics" and you want to find expired domains related to that keyword to build your PBN, you can do a few things (just think out of the box). I´m going to give you a few simples ideas:

1. Search on google for "infografics", so the first results will give me all authority sites for "infografics" in google eyes, ie:
infogr.am
http://www.coolinfographics.com
infographicworld.com
piktochart.com
dailyinfographic.com
mashable.com/category/infographics/
venngage.com
http://www.canva.com/create/infographics/
magazine.good.is/infographics
http://www.creativebloq.com/

I tried with coolinfographics.com (the big guy) and found a few (nothing crazy tho):


if you get an expired domain with backlink from the biggest authority web in your own niche, you can used it as PBN, 301, etc...

2. I don´t know if there is any big magazine or forum about infographics. it´s your niche, so try to check out those forums, big blogs looking for other websites as well.

3. if you main competitor is http://www.coolinfographics.com, try to check what are their main 5-10 links coming from (ahrefs, majestic, semrush), and repeat the operation. if an authority website is pointing to your competitor and you, you have another nice url for your pbn.

4. try archive of http://www.coolinfographics.com, check a snapshot from 2011 and check it out the url on expired domain spy:

You can also look in blog directories, forums, even if the niche is not directly related to infographics, as design, blogs, seo, any related niche may work very well to find high authority domains ready to register.

It´s not that easy or any kind of magic tool, but finding two or three new domains could make a whole different in your rankings. That´s just a few ideas, reach out to me on skype if you get stuck.

My Review:

Truth be told finding expired and dropped domains used for building a private blog network aren’t the same anymore. I know that no one has time to sit down and manually check expireddomains.net or scan through Godaddy auctions.

Expired Domain Spy is absolutely insane when it comes to finding expired domains. The best part about it is you can scrape domains in your niche in order to get a backlink funnel from your favorite sites.

Say you’re in the technology niche and you found a domain with links from sites like Mashable, Gizmodo, and Techcrunch. Could you imagine how much link juice would flow right to your site? Tons.

Pros:

1. App is smooth and easy to use.

2. Support is through email.

3. You can find detailed tutorial on their site.

4. Very accurate metrics - PA/DA and CF/TF (I manually verified this).

5. Crawl from URL from Archive (Which is great!).

6. Standalone application with a private crawler.

7. Option to save particular metrics domains automatically.

8. Find niche relevant domains within minutes!

Cons:

I wish if there's an option to scrape Web 2.0 domains as well.

It is a really great tool. The only thing that's missing for me is the feature to be able to load a list of many URLs and let it do it's thing. Otherwise there's too much babysitting right now.

The idea of the tool is good, and the price is a steal. However, my positives stop there.
1. The software is extreme for the cpu(uses 40-90% of my CPU) with. My computer is useless to use for other purposes while the tool runs. (W7, OC’ed i7-4790k, 32 gb ram, 1 tb SSD)
2. Only gives information about http://www.domain.com, not domain.com
3. Uses TF/CF instead of CF/TF that most others do. Not a big thing, but the mindset must be turned around to instantly see the results.

Here is a pic with comparison with Domain Metrics Tool(DMT), Bluechip Backlinks(BB), and Expired Domain Spy(EDS). I use the domain x10submit.com as comparison. DMT shows us the same info as EDS, but has both versions(www and non-www) and the more used CF/TF. BB are showing it perfectly except that they unfortunately don’t have CF/TF or TF/CF . Except that, you only need to check the domains for spam. Yeh, I know that the price difference is over 80 dollars a month, and I don’t expect EDS to be close to this, but with just a few changes, you got a winner. However, for me, you really need to fix cpu intensive work first.

Thanks Speca, I really appreciate your feedback. it seems you know what you are talking about

1. Check options, you can drop the threats from 10 to 5, and you will see improvements. also, if you have a server, try running EDS in the server while you work on your pc
2. It takes the greatest value of both www and non-www. Other tools only check one of them
3. I don´t know what you mean here. you are saying other tools make the división in a different order, CF/TF instead of TF/CF? i would like to know more about it. https://blog.majestic.com/general/using-...prospects/
