External File Servers

Our external file server feature enables you to keep adding file storage as your site grows. There are 2 options for storing files externally, in additional to local file storage.

Direct File Storage:
Direct upload and download to external file servers.
Use sub-domains such as fs1.yourdomain.com or a different domain.
Requires a web server such as Apache and connection to your database from the file server.
Extremely scalable.
FTP File Storage:
Any server with FTP running on it can be used, no matter what the OS is.
Easy setup, just configure it within the file sharing script script admin area. No files needed on the file server itself.

Set an unlimited amount of file servers.
Configure the file upload script to use a specific server or the one with the least used space.
Monitor how many files and storage space used within the YetiShare admin area.
New Option to set maximum storage limit for file servers.
New Option to use a file server until it's full, then use the next. File server priority must be set and 'until full' chosen for the 'server selection method'.
New Amazon S3 can now be used as a file store using the s3 filestore plugin.

File Manager


The file manager is fast, flexible and feature rich. Each user which signs up for an account will have their own file manager. We've built this entirely in-house so we can easily add additional features as requested.

Flow Theme:

Users can Drag and Drop their uploads straight from their computer into their browser. This works for any modern web browsers which support HTML5:

Remote Upload

The remote upload form is accessible via the homepage on the tab 'remote url upload' tab. If you configure it that way, users can use it to grab files from external sites based on the file url.

Progress indicators on each file being transferred so users are aware of percentage complete.
Supports ftp file urls.
Admin can limit the total files permitted at once.
Admin can limit the max filesize for each file.





RTL Support


Our 'Flow' theme has full RTL (Right To Left) support. The entire page reformats on mobile, tablet and desktop to be RTL or LTR depending on the direction set on the currently selected language.

Examples include (but are not limited to) Arabic, Chinese and Farsi.

The script supports multiple UTF8 based languages so you can even have a mix of LTR and RTL languages with a language bar at the bottom to easily switch.
















Theme Support

In order to make managing your site theme easier, all the front-end template code is within it's own folder in the code. This means that if an update to the core YetiShare script is released, it's a lot easier to upgrade your installation.

The admin area includes a section to manage themes. You can upload a new theme zip file and it'll be immediately installed without any changes to the code or the need to upload anything via FTP.

The admin area also enables you to preview a theme and set your chosen theme live.

The core script comes with 2 themes:

Flow - Our new Bootstrap theme.
BlueV2 - Our older theme we supplied with previous releases.






Social Network Sharing


Once a file has been uploaded, users can copy and paste the file url into a forum or immediately post the url to various social networking sites using addthis. These include:

X-Send File Support

PHP is very good at being a scripting language however it isn't designed to handle very large files under high load. Your webserver is built to handle files best so it makes sense for it to be doing all the hard work when files are downloaded.

Within our core YetiShare script we've integrated with the 2 most common webservers to allow for the best performance when providing file downloads on busy sites:

XSendFile - For Apache. If enabled, files will be handed off from PHP onto Apache as soon as they are requested. This still keeps the original file location secure but allows for the webserver to handle the download rather than putting PHP under any pressure.
XAccelRedirect - For Nginx. As above however this is for the Nginx webserver. This also has the advantage of built a built in download complete log, if you're using the rewards plugin you'll want this! It'll only log rewards once the entire download has completed.

We've built our own plugin architecture to easily add additional functionality to your file sharing site without needing to upgrade the entire codebase. With the plugin architecture we can add new payment gateways, a rewards program, new admin functionality, media streamers and more.

User Registration


Users can register for a free or paid account. Both accounts have the following:

Ajax based file manager.
Links to statistics, share and delete file.
Folder management.

Free User:
Has to wait for file download. Attempts to get user to register on the site. (configurable)
Download speed restricted to 15kbps. (configurable)
Inactive downloads are only kept for 60 days. (configurable)

Paid User:
No wait for downloads. (configurable)
No restrictions on the download speed. (configurable)
Inactive downloads are kept for as long as they have a paid account (configurable)
Maximum upload filesize of 1GB. (configurable)
Moderator User:
As with the paid user but can access the admin area for managing files and processing DCMA requests.
Admin User:
As with the paid user but has access to the admin area.



Maximise Storage

Storage costs can soon mount up if your running a large file hosting site. To limit this as much as possible, YetiShare will only ever store 1 copy of each file.

Duplicate files are not stored, so the same file will only ever be kept in storage once. Unique download urls are still generated on each upload for stats, privacy etc.
Deleting a file removes the download url, not the original file, if there's more than 1 in the system. Deleting the last download url of a file will remove the original.
Logging of md5 file hashes on upload. Optionally show these to your users to validate file contents.
File servers can be chained to store files until full. See the file servers page for more information.

DMCA Reports

The DMCA functionality built into YetiShare is fully integrated into the admin area so you can easily and quickly process removal requests. Set up a dedicated user to just have access to review the requests.

Front-end form requesting all the required information to submit a DMCA removal.
Entered DMCA information is validated including the problem file url.
Notification of removal request sent to admin via email.
Admin area section to view pending and previous requests.
Quick, single click, removal via the admin area. This approves the request and instantly removes the file.
Dashboard overview of total pending requests so it's easily seen when admin logs in.
Moderator user type to provide limited access for reviewing copyright reports. User type can access the file management and reported abuse pages in the admin area.







100% Source Code

YetiShare comes with 100% source code, we don't encode any of the source at all. This gives you the flexibility to adapt and add features to the file sharing script as you need to and tweak the styles as required. It also means that we're completely transparent with our code so you can be confident it's clean from any malicious code.
