[hide]www.bestblackhatforum.com[/hide]

[hide]bestblackhatforum.com[/hide]

[hide]Why does the LOCK icon /function not work here? What am I doing wrong??[/spoiler]

May I also suggest that instead of having 8 pages of thread for newbies to read, how about getting rid of this thread and just having a one-post thread stating the latest way to do this?

And where do I go to get my questions answered re how this forum "works"???

RE:
OKAY:
I cannot explain why but if you are a newbie here like me you may find that the tags [ hide ] and [ /hide ] and the tags [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ] do not work for you. This is what I found when I first tried to use them. I wonder if it has to do with someone having to ENABLE you to use them or you have to have x number of posts firsts or ??? All I know is before these tags would not always work for me and now at least most of the time they do.

Here's the EASY way to do it:
1) Make sure you are in FULL EDIT posting mode - the one that shows the toolbar above your post with an icon in the 2nd row that looks like a LOCK.
2) When you are ready to hide a link, before copying the link to your post click the lock button which will create something that looks like this [ hide ][ /hide ] but without the spaces before and after the word.
3. Put your link in there, in between the 2 bracketed "hide"s: [ hide ]http://bestblackhatforum.com[ /hide ] (remember I have added extra spaces here just to show you, otherwise the tags would be hidden. When you press the LOCK icon above to create your hidden links your tags will not have the extra spaces.

So here is my hidden link using the LOCK button above in the Post Editor:
[hide]http://bestblackhatforum.com [/spoiler] See how I have no space here after the 1st Hide tag? So it does not work!
Now, if I use the same tags but add the space before the url and after the first tag, it works:
IMPORTANT NOTE: AT LEAST FOR ME THE TAGS WILL NOT WORK, WILL NOT HIDE THE URL, UNLESS I PUT A SPACE BEFORE AND AFTER THE LINK!!!
Your mileage may vary but for me this is why it was not working for me! Maybe it has to do with my Firefox Browser or my Java or who knows what? But I find that when you put your url that you are hiding, between the tags, add a space in front of the url and a space after the url to make sure it works!
