[?] Question: Cloudflare and SEO

I'm a bit unclear how Cloudflare works, and IPs.

I was going to buy some additional IPs from my host, so my websites were on different IPs.

But I was told, by my VPS host support, that 'because I use Cloudflare for my domains/websites I don't need to have them on separate IPs'.

Do you agree with this?

Doesn't that mean I could build a PBN on my VPS, all sites on the same host, but send them all through Cloudflare to 'hide' that fact?

That doesn't quite make sense to me, or else, surely, everyone would do it.

Can anyone explain this to me please?
