Supported files for Kindle books are:
KF8 Kindle Format 8 AZW (This is essentially a copy protected version of .mobi) MOBI If you want to read epub files you need to convert them to one of the above formats with a program like Calibre
I am but a learner --- so teach me!!!
 A teacher will appear when the student is ready.

I use sumatraPDF to read all of the above files... it's lightweight software... try it...
