@GordonShumway: Thank you for the extra mirror and your kind comment. It is good people like you who provide value and exhibit kindness that make this forum a success.

@Everyone reading: I was asked by a forum member to provide a mirror (I believe I remember who it was but I delete my PMs as soon as I successfully provide what someone asks for). I sent them a PM with the forum thread link as well as a direct link to the Ge.tt download. I haven't heard back from them since and haven't seen a rep.

To his/her credit, they may have stepped away from the forum for a day or so ... I only wanted to let them know that I followed through on their request (even though I was in a time crunch) and wanted to be sure they got what they asked me for.

I routinely get people PMing me to ask to search for something they're looking for or re-upping or providing a mirror. All this takes time that I don't mind spending ... if they're nice about it and show appreciate (rep/thanks) afterwards. My shares get hundreds of downloads (when I check my mediafire and ge.tt stats) yet, my reps don't necessarily reflect that.

But I can't complain because a LOT of people thank me for my shares; compliment my writing and/or rep me every time they download my share.

I hear a lot of people bitching about the request for reps. No, you can't spend them but they do have value. Reps show that the person can be trusted to provide value (useful info and premium downloads) and won't knowingly infect your computer (provide a VT scan when applicable). It shows that person isn't a leecher who takes but never shares.

If you still can't wrap your mind around that concept, here's a simple analogy. When you go into a store and see something you consider valuable, you pay for it. Or if you cannot afford it, you walk out without it. The payment is an exchange ... a kind of THANK YOU to the product creator for providing what you wanted or needed.

Coming here to download stuff you probably can't find elsewhere and then leaving without so much as a belch, says more about the people who do that. Still, it pisses me off!

So, I send warm hugs and a big THANK YOU to all you people who keep the forum "THE BEST BHF" by providing value, repping, showing kindness and just being good people.

Besides, those who balk the loudest about reps are the ones who "probably ain't got none!"
