Tips For Finding A Product
For your first product I would drill down into subcategories to find less competitive products. So for Automotive you could look drill down to Automotive >> Tools and Equipment >> Diagnostic and Test Tools.

You could go even deeper if you wish. If a product shows up in any of the Best Seller lists you know that the item is selling.

For your first product, you can also go for a lower selling item of top 5,000 in the General Category. These won't be as big of sellers as others but the main thing we want to do with our first product is get our feet wet and make some sales.

For example, I have an item that is ranked around 5,000 in it's General Category and it gets about 5-8 sales a day. Not a home run, but still a nice seller.

Don't be afraid to start small with your first product. After you get rolling, you can go for more competitive products.
