Effective email marketing
Is anyone effectively sending emails without paying to have their IP's whitelisted?

I was sending emails via PMTA/Interspire a few years ago. I was hitting the inbox but spinning my messages, sending slow and following the ISP rules for x amount of emails per hour.

The main issue I appeared to have was the quality of the leads. Seems like unless they opt-in and are aware then there is not much use in sending them.

Anyone agree/disagree?

Yea! I agree. What solution did you find?

RE: Effective email marketing
I don't have a solution, just trying to see if it's worth getting involved in again.

Thinking back, I could have tried different things to try and pull leads from list to get them to opt-in for a freebie. Just not sure if it would be faster or more effective using PPC ads.

Was hoping to hear what others have done to scale up. I will probably try it again but my time is spread thin on a couple projects. This is something I keep thinking about and want to make it work.

RE: Effective email marketing
If you have targeted leads and a mailing system that reaches the inbox fairly often you can definitely still make money with blackhat email marketing. It doesn't matter that the leads didn't opt-in to receive emails from you.

For example, if you have a list of people who love feet porn and you send offers to their inbox related to feet porn then you'll make money, period.

Most people fail at email marketing because they simply don't reach the inbox often enough and/or they have crappy leads. Another problem is that most aspiring email marketers go for the same saturated niches like MMO, fitness, dating, etc. There are several other niches that aren't as saturated and that are actually a lot easier to make money from.
